The Angleton Cemetery Association participates in multiple national holidays to honor the deceased veterans buried at Angleton Cemetery.
We honor Memorial Day by placing flags on veterans’ graves and flying American flags along the cemetery roads.
We have observed Flag Day by stripping flags while veterans explain the significance of each color. The veterans will present the stripes to the public and instruct them on how to properly burn the strips. However, we also accept damaged or retired flags year-round for proper, honorable disposal. In addition to accepting retired flags at our office, we provide a flag receptacle which Brazoria County residents can access at any time.
Angleton Cemetery has honored and at this time, we currently honor the veteran’s by participating in Wreaths Across America, which is a non-profit organization whose mission is to adorn the graves of veterans in the entire nation with memorial wreaths. Wreaths Across America conducts a nationwide, simultaneous wreath-laying ceremony in over 750 locations which includes active and retired military presenting the flags of the branches of the armed forces.
